Services

Confidentiality

The opportunity to talk freely and openly is an important principle of counseling.  Through confidential counseling comes the healing and growth that help individuals, couples and families find the strength to make choices that will enrich their lives and allow them to confidently pursue healthy relationships.

  • In complete confidentiality, you may obtain assistance with:

    • Psychotherapy for individuals, couples, children and families
    • Parent/Infant Program
    • Services for the elderly
    • Consultation for clergy, physicians and other professionals
    • Group seminars
    • Supervision for professional development
    • Student intern program
    • Counseling for spiritual growth

Our full range of services are extended to the handicapped.  We also have evening hours for your convenience.

    Appointments are 45-50 minutes.

  • Family Therapy Program

Families are the centerpiece of our lives. Who we are and what we believe stems largely from family influences.  When a member of a family is troubled, it impacts everyone in that circle of relationships so it is only natural that families should be included and involved in the healing process.  In 1998 we received a grant from the Oneida and Herkimer Community Foundation enabling us to reach out to schools, physicians, clergy and congregations.  We have served a growing number of families through this program including couples, children, adolescents and their parents, and blended families of all kinds.
  • Infant-Parent Psychotherapy Program

The Infant-Parent program is a specialized mental health and relationship treatment program for parents and their children between pre-birth and three.  By addressing the fit between the infant’s needs, the parent’s beliefs and behaviors, and the home environment, the mission is to improve socioemotional and cognitive outcomes of infants and toddlers through research-informed and relationship-based treatment. For more info, contact Gregory Kovacs.
  • Clergy and Congregation Care

This is a brand new program in its early stages of development.  The Samaritan Institute, our accrediting body for Samaritan Counseling Centers, has received a grant from the Lily Endowment.  This grant is to assist in implementing new, or enhancing existing, Clergy and Congregation Care Programs.  The goal is to develop a high quality program in the Mohawk Valley that will provide a ministry of care to area clergy and congregations.  For more info, contact Lori Robinson.

Intake Process

When you call, our staff will guide you through the intake process.  You will need to fill out a brief intake form.  Once it is returned to our office, a staff therapist will call to set up the first appointment.

First Visit

In addition to learning more about you, your therapist will go over important center policies with you.

Fees will also be discussed.  Many insurance companies cover outpatient psychotherapy which will assist in the cost of our services.  A sliding fee scale is used for individuals without insurance coverage and will be calculated based on total household income and number of dependents.

Appointments are 45-50 minutes.
